Single-use arteriovenous puncture needle
Single-use arteriovenous puncture needle with safety guard, to be used when the needle tip needs to be withdrawn after dialysis treatment.
Instructions for use: --
1. Slowly push the safety guard on the hose forward toward the wing‑like tab, so that the raised front end of the guard points upward.
2. With one hand, press the cotton gauze above the needle tip using the middle and ring fingers, and use the index finger to hook the raised front edge of the safety guard, preparing to remove the needle.
3. With the other hand, gently pull the soft tubing of the puncture needle at the rear of the safety guard. Withdraw it, pulling until it reaches the locking groove; you will hear a “click” as the locking tab inside the groove engages with the wing, preventing the needle tip from retracting on its own.
4. Dispose of the puncture needle lodged in the safety device into the sharps container, thereby ensuring the safety of healthcare personnel and preventing sharps‑related injuries among waste‑management staff.
